There’s another meeting taking place just before the world’s largest diabetes meeting: The Community Volunteer Leadership Conference (CVLC). This is the American Diabetes Association’s largest gathering of volunteer and staff leadership from across the country. The primary goal of this conference is to provide a consistent focus for all communities. At this year’s meeting, the Association’s 2012 – 2015 Strategic Plan will be unveiled.
CVLC is attended by key leaders from different geographic areas, including both volunteers and staff; the people who are responsible for the implementation of local activities. Attendees are invited based on their leadership role in their community.
This conference is an opportunity for the Association to bring volunteers and other community leaders together to re-energize their spirits about the Stop Diabetes® movement and the work that is the lifeblood of the Association. It is a way for volunteers to network, plan goals and objectives, and learn from one another’s experiences. In addition, it gives the Association a chance to recognize its outstanding volunteers for all of their work and dedication.
